High alpine tour on top of one of the greatest glacier areas of the Eastern Alps, in the National Park Hohe Tauern, in the Venediger group. An impressive glacier world and breath-taking panorama awaits you. On this tour you will also climb the Hoher Zaun 3,457 m, the Hohes Anderl 3,504 m, the Schwarze Wand 3,511 m, the Rainerhorn 3,560 m and the Großvenediger at 3,660 m. Tour description

This 2-day high mountain tour is physically very challenging and only suitable for high-fitness mountaineers. The tour is carried out as a group tour in a roped party of min. 4 people up to max. 6 people per rope team.

Day 1

This demanding summit tour requires excellent physical condition for the participants. Meeting point for this tour is the Johannishütte hikers’ parking lot in Prägraten-Hinterbichl in East Tyrol. The Venedigertaxi will take the participants to the Johannishütte. From there, the ascent to Defregger Haus at 2,982 m will take about 2 ½ h. Overnight stay with half board at Defregger Haus.

Day 2

Fully energized after breakfast, this high-altitude tour takes you across the glacier in a safe rope team with your mountain guide. These five peaks of the Venediger Crown Hoher Zaun 3,457 m, Hohes Anderl 3,504 m, Schwarze Wand 3,511 m, Rainerhorn and the Großvenediger 3,660 m are climbed on this day. The tour requires good physical condition since the walking time will be about 7 hours. After the tour you will return to the Defregger Haus for a well-deserved lunch and then hike back to the Johannishütte and take the Venedigertaxi back to the starting point at the Johannishütte parking lot.
