In safe rope team it goes very early in the morning at full moon in the direction of Großvenediger. At sunrise, an incredible panoramic view of the eternal ice and the peaks of the Venediger Group awaits you. The mountains glow and the rising sun gains strength as the rope team stands on the summit. An experience of a special kind on which we accompany you safely. This tour starts in Prägraten/Hinterbichl and leads via the Johannishütte to the Defregger Haus, where you will spend the night.
This tour is offered as a group tour with min. 4 and max. 8 guests. Minimum number of participants: If the minimum number of participants of 4 guests is not reached, we reserve the right to change your booked tour to another date.
The ascent of the Großvenediger Defregger Haus is technically easy. Meeting point for this tour is the Johannishütte hikers’ parking lot in Prägraten-Hinterbichl in East Tyrol. The Venedigertaxi will take the participants to the Johannishütte. From there, the ascent to Defregger Haus at 2,982 m will take about 2 ½ h. Overnight stay with half board at Defregger Haus. Spending the night at Defregger Haus allows us the shortest possible route to the summit to reach the Großvenediger on the 2nd day of the tour.
When the moon is full, the tour starts from the Defregger House. In a safe rope team with the certified mountain guide, the path leads over the mighty glacier with its crevasses towards the summit. The ascent takes about 3 1/2 hours and at sunrise the summit of Großvenediger is reached at 3,660 m. To stand on the highest peak of the Salzburg region, the mountain peaks bathed in soft light and an indescribable feeling of happiness spreads out. There is no better way to start the day with this special kind of experience.
After the descent from the summit and an relaxing rest at Defregger Haus, we head downhill towards Johannishütte. Return by Venediger Taxi to the hikers’ parking lot.
